Brazil joined SWA in 2016. The country aims to approve and implement its current "Urban and Rural Sanitation Plan", which is currently undergoing revision. They also aim to strengthen the coordination mechanisms among the different agencies in the WASH sector. Due to the political changes regarding the WASH body sector, this will be updated. The Regional Development Ministry is the new body sector.
