SWA is proud to announce the appointment of Ms. Nompumelelo Ntshalintshali-Motsa for the role of SWA Regional Coordinator – Africa. As a member of the SWA Secretariat (hosted by partner AMCOW), Ms. Ntshalintshali-Motsa will work to increase the active participation of African in-country SWA partners in their government’s planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation activities, thus enhancing the government’s accountability to citizens.
Before joining SWA Ms. Ntshalintshali-Motsa worked as Principal Water Development Analyst, facilitating WASH strategy, planning and monitoring for the Kingdom of Eswatini. Ms. Ntshalintshali-Motsa brings to SWA over 15 years of effective multi-stakeholder coordination of the WASH sector at national and regional level, including with global-level partners such as the United National. In her previous capacity, she was elected the Southern African Region’s representative at the SWA Steering Committee.
Commenting on the appointment, Catarina de Albuquerque, SWA CEO, said “Africa is the region with the highest number of partners. African governments have, from the start of the partnership, been some of our greatest champions and committed partners. I am really excited to be able to further engage the region through such an experienced WASH professional as Nompumelelo. I also believe the decision to host Nompumelelo at our partner AMCOW will further leverage her activities in the region.”
