Results of SWA 2020 Steering Committee Elections

Sanitation and Water for All Secretariat
14 Oct 2020

As announced on 31 August 2020, Sanitation and Water for All partnership ran elections during September and October to select some of the new Steering Committee members. We are pleased to announce the results of the 2020 SWA Steering Committee Elections, which were conducted in accordance with the SWA Governance Document.

The SWA partners elected Steering Committee members from their respective constituencies and sub-categories through a confidential elections process. For the 2020 elections, nominations were accepted from 4 to 11 September, and voting was held from 22 to 30 September 2020.

Regarding the process for the CSOs Latin American and Caribbean Representative and the Latin American and Caribbean Government sub-category, the number of nominations was equal to the number of vacant seats, the nominated partners were, therefore, declared the representatives without the need for an election.

In the case of Eastern and Southern Africa, the Middle East and North Africa and South Asia, voting resulted in ties. The secretariat has therefore held runoff elections in these government sub-categories from 5 to 7 October and from 7 to 12 October 2020.

Please find below the names of Partners who have been elected to the Steering Committee for a three-year term. Inductions for new Steering Committee members will take place in December 2020.
